2026 HARDSURFACE AWARDS

TERRAZZO, TILE AND STONE INSTALLATIONS

The Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Association of Canada (TTMAC) has represented the terrazzo, tile and stone industry for over 80 years. TTMAC operates programs and services that enhance the effectiveness of member companies in providing quality work in terrazzo, tile and natural stone installations.

THE CONTEST

The TTMAC Hardsurface Awards for terrazzo, tile and natural stone installations will recognize the trade contractor, materials supplier, architect, designer, specifier and builder. Publicity for awards will focus on the partnership between the professionals involved in the installation.

CATEGORIES

TTMAC recognizes excellence and imagination combined in hard surface installations in the following categories: Terrazzo, Manufactured Tile and Slabs, Natural Stone, Restoration, Unique, Historical, Technical Product Application, International and Residential. Select the category that your project best falls into for each entry. The winners will be chosen on a national level. Awards will be given to the Trade Contractor and/or Supplier member. Additional award plaques may be purchased for other parties involved in the project.

JUDGING

The judging panel for this award program will consist of a panel of industry professionals coordinated by the committee chairperson. Their decision will be based upon quality of workmanship, level of difficulty, synopsis of the project, special features contained in the project and quality of the pictures submitted. Decisions of the judges are final. Winners and awards will be presented at the TTMAC annual convention and published in the Hardsurface Newsletter & on Social Media channels. All material submitted shall become the property of TTMAC and may be used in future publications, exhibits, advertisements, etc. Material WILL NOT be returned to competition entrants.

APPLICATION AND ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION

The following requirements must be met for your project to be considered:

• 1. a) All entries submitted must be by a contractor and/or supplier member in good standing with TTMAC.
      b) The application can be shared.
• 2. Projects must be completed to be eligible.
• 3. All projects must consist of quality workmanship.
• 4. Evidence must be presented to clearly indicate the level of quality achieved.
• 5. Entries must include:
  • a) Thorough written description of the installation providing:
    • A 200 - 400 word synopsis of the project including type of materials used.
    • Special features contained in the project and any description of challenges and how they were overcome.
  • b) A letter of approval from the “owner” or developer allowing TTMAC to use photographs for publication.
  • c) All photographs should be submitted in high quality digital format. Additional photographs of different views can be provided to assist the judging process. All entries to be considered for the Restoration Award must include photographs of before and after execution.
  • d) All materials submitted should be sent in electronic version. No hardcopy package is required.
• 6. Privacy of owners will be kept only by specific request.
• 7. Fee: $400.00 + HST for each entry; $500.00 + HST for each joint submission.

The Award entry form must be filled out completely with no exceptions. Please include all parties involved and responsible for the origination and execution of the winning projects, so they can be recognized. All criteria must be met for your project to be considered for the contest. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER April 15, 2026.

THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL
