WHO
WE ARE
The TTMAC
was founded in 1944. Its mandate was to develop a method of standardizing
terrazzo, tile and marble installation techniques, as well as being a
technical resource and liaison for architects, specifiers, designers and
engineers. TTMAC honours this commitment today as well as many other services
and support of the hardsurface industry and its members.
Committee
Participation
As with most associations, TTMAC relies heavily on volunteers. These individuals
give generously of their time and talents in order to chart the associations
overall strategies and those of each of our committees. Some are on the
Board of Directors while others chair individual committees and still
others work on committees to make projects happen.
Specifications & Training
Technical people are driven with an interest to develop procedures and
standards through the development of specification guides that are the
cornerstone of moving the hardsurface industry forward. Other technical
people who are interested in education get involved with educational and
training programs helping to design curriculums, attract instructors,
develop an accreditation program for installers, while working with marketing
committees to bring courses to the marketplace and improve installation
standards and the trust of the public toward the hardsurface industry.
Inspections
Responsible for conducting field inspections, and compiling field reports,
and developing final client reports.
Marketing
Marketing committees work on promoting training seminars, social events
and networking opportunities to members and potential new members. They
also develop and implement marketing plans through print media, and our
TTMAC website. They develop member profiles for a new program that we
will roll out in 2009 featuring members on the web for a month.
Membership
The Membership committee has a mission to approve new member applications
and move them forward in the approval process, and also assists in retaining
members through the TTMAC Ambassador Program where they contact members
that have not been active in association's functions and programs and
invite them to attend free open houses, and meetings where they can meet
new members and association volunteers.
Social & Events
Planning The Social Committee plans for, organizes and implements plans
for fund raising events such as Bocce and Golf Tournaments, Social evenings,
dinner seminars, and the Christmas Party.
Each committee is made up of a combination of people who have skills and
experience in a facet of the business with those that are attempting to
network and develop skills further. A wide range of talents where synergies
can take the individual and the group to new levels. Should you want to
explore the area of committee participation please contact your local
association office or email len@ttmac.com

Flooring
Assembly Testing
Do
you need to meet ASTM C-627 standards?
The Universal Type
Floor Tester is a unique machine. This machine is a redesign of the Robinson
Floor Tester and is capable of carrying out the test for an ASTM C-627
designation. The ASTM test is designed to verify the suitability of a
flooring system for a particular type of installation. The test method
consists of preparing installation slabs that duplicate the type of installation
under consid-eration, subjecting them to one or more testers and evaluating
the results in a prescribed manner. >>
